In "deforestation", Mary Kainer plays with the irony of the beauty
that accompanies the cutting down of trees.
The beautiful striations of fungi are mimicked through the layering
and cutting of encaustic on wood panels. Logos of companies responsible
for deforestation are subtly revealed in the spreading fungi patterns on the
canvases.
The studio is located at 452 Lasswade Road, east off County Rd 46,
south of the Cty Rd 504/46 junction, 13 kilometers from Apsley.
