412 McCauley's Rd off Cty Rd 504.
Levi Caya has been widdling wood since he was 14 years old, he loved doing this and found he had a natural talent for creating some interesting wood carvings. During this time he met a friend Steve. Steve showed Levi various techniques in wood carving and different things Levi could do with carving wood. This assistance from Steve inspired Levi to continue practising what he loved to do and allowed him to whittle a small bear. Levi realized that he was highly intrigued in these new found techniques and wanted to continue to advance his natural talent for wood carving. So Levi, kept on carving and carving and carving. A few years later a teacher of his in high school, recognized Levi's talent for wood carving and introduced him to a High School Co-op led by Carver Fred Priemu. Fred showed Levi the intricacies of wood carving and the benefits of learning to carve with power tools. Fred also taught Levi the business aspect of selling his carvings, how to price his work and so on. Fred's introduction to how to carve wood with chain saws and other power tools was the catalyst that ingnited the already present dedication to becoming a true wood carver within Levi. Levi has never looked back and has continued on with his chain saw carving. This is Levi's life passion and Levi has been committed to all things wood carving related since he was that 14 year old boy who whittled a little bear in wood. Today Levi has through his own hard work and dedication to his art form become a respected, talented wood carver in his own right. Levi continues to carve wood bears, only now his bears stand a whopping 10 feet tall. Levi carves anything from wood Spirits to turtles to vikings. Recently Levi has been creating unique animal chairs. So come on out and see this talented young man at work during this years Apsley Studio Tour. Levi will be giving wood carving demonstrations throughout the studio tour weekend. This is definitely one young man to keep watching as he continues to constantly improve his skills, his talent and his creativity.
