     stained glass

“The Stained Glass Lady’s” transparent dreams are inspired by nature. Light brings life to her hand crafted windows, panels  and sun catchers. Beatrice’s new tables and lamps are sure to catch your eye. Grace dismal spaces  with the mystery and magic of coloured light.
Watch for the green sign on the east side of Hwy.28; #9482, just 3 km. south  of Apsley. Open all year by appointment or chance.

D June Harris
     paintings

I love to paint.  I have many muses: the land; flowers; light shining through glass objects and people doing ordinary things.  I combine these images in a colourful, imaginative way, creating realistic paintings in watercolour and oils, to be enjoyed by others.
This year, I am painting small florals as well as large still lifes and landscapes.  My work is in private collections throughout North America and England.
Come visit me at Trillium Hill Studio, 190 Anstruther Lake Road, 1 km from Hwy 28.

F  Elizabeth Kusinski
      paintings

Elizabeth Kusinski’s oil paintings have been described as having a semi-impressionistic  quality with an ‘old world’ romantic feeling.  Her florals are vibrant with an emphasis on the contrast between light and dark.  Elizabeth’s work was influenced by her European roots, represented in her street and pastoral scenes.  Her work has been on display in galleries and her paintings are in many private collections around the world.

H  Arne Roosman
    paintings

As always, Arne is intrigued by myths and legends. From his successful show at the Ya Ya Gallery in Bancroft, back to the Celtic.  Of course there are the Italians landscapes and townscapes from Tuscany and Venice, as well as caricatures, historical and political. And, last but not least, Arne’s ever-present horses.
Meet the artist upstairs at Kawartha Cottage Wear on main street in Apsley.  At other times, Arne can be reached at:

J Rosslyn Reed
   clay art

Rosslyn’s fascination with clay has led her in constant pursuit of beauty in colour and form. Crystalline- glazed plates and bowls capture crystal formations in the glaze, like ice crystals on a windowpane.  In contrast, her warm, burnished, smoke-fired vessels capture a particular moment in the sawdust and wood firing.
Rosslyn taught ceramics at Mohawk and Niagara Colleges before moving to her waterfront studio-home on Chandos Lake.
Turn off county road 620 at Balmer Road; follow Balmer Rd for 11 km to  #2217 on the right hand side, just past the intersection of Antelope Trail.

K Molly Moldovan
     visual artist

Working from the inside out -- from the feeling to the image is my process, whether I’m creating a series of abstracted landscapes for the sheer joy of it or making work that explores social conscience and political experience.
Recent works have explored such diverse themes as democracy, cross-border politics, the AIDS pandemic, familial relationships and the abstract nature of our universe.
Returning as my guest this year is Susan Higgins, whose distinctive fused glass bowls and plates express themes of nature, and colourful abstract designs.  Susan can be reached at
     705-635-9733.
From Apsley, follow county road 620 6 km east to Clydesdale Rd. Turn left and continue on Clydesdale to #1080, the first driveway on the left past Tallan Lake Rd.  Studio open to the public during studio tour weekend or by appointment.
