D Arne Roosman
paintings
This year, Arne has turned some established myths on their heads,
such as turning male villains into saintly females, mixing events and
timetables. Don’t miss this painterly hodgepodge!
Some abstract ideas are sneaking into the repertoire, to mirror the
souvenirs from Italy.
And, of course, the equestrian touch.
Meet the artist upstairs at Kawartha Cottage Wear on main street
in Apsley. At other times, Arne can be reached at:

E Elizabeth Kusinski
paintings
Elizabeth Kusinski’s work in oils has been described as
semi-impressionistic.
Whether it be florals, landscapes, architecture or anything else
that catches her fancy at the time, she tries to capture the essence
of her subject through colour, movement and light. Elizabeth’s work
has been on display in galleries and many of her pieces are in
private collections around the world.
Returning as LIz' guest is Gail West, The English Potter, who will
show some funky new items and vibrant new glazes as well as the
large, leaf-impressed bowls and the much admired whimsical bird
houses of 2009.

H Art Unseen Studio
wildlife art
There's always a diverse variety of art to see at Art Unseen Studio & Gallery.
This year, Stefanie will be showing new wildlife pieces in coloured pencil. The
inspiration behind this recent work is the expression of archetypes, animal totems
which represent certain core natures.
Stefanie’s passion for photography continues as well, with new photographs of
nature and animals.
Alongside her original art, Stefanie's images adorn an ever changing and growing
assortment of prints, t-shirts, journals and gifts.

J Rosslyn Reed
clay art
Rosslyn’s fascination with clay has led her in constant pursuit of beauty in
colour and form.
Crystalline- glazed plates and bowls capture crystal formations in the glaze,
like ice crystals on a windowpane. In contrast, her warm, burnished, smoke-fired
vessels capture a particular moment in the sawdust and wood firing.
Rosslyn’s guest this year is master weaver Frances Timbers, who is known
Canada-wide for her lustrous shawls and household linens. 705.6562417 or

distinctive fused glass bowls and plates express themes of nature.

R Mary Kainer
visual arts
In "deforestation", Mary Kainer plays with the irony of the beauty
that accompanies the cutting down of trees.
The beautiful striations of fungi are mimicked through the layering
and cutting of encaustic on wood panels. Logos of companies responsible
for deforestation are subtly revealed in the spreading fungi patterns on the
canvases.
The studio is located at 452 Lasswade Road, east off County Rd 46,
south of the Cty Rd 504/46 junction, 13 kilometers from Apsley.

S Jon Mills
painter/sculptor
My artwork consists largely of abstract expressionism, conceptual
motifs, and pop. I paint mainly in oils but also create in a variety of mixed
media.
My overtures to painting are often unplanned and involve the use of
crude forms and amorphous color schemes that develop a theme
according to the associations that emerge in my consciousness.
My work may become intellectualized once initiated, but I rely on the
primacy of affect and imago to create and render meaning through the
vocabulary of emotion, energy, movement, and form.
From Coe Hill, follow Cty Rd 620 4 km east to #1476, on the left.
